Responsibilities

Digital Marketing

Social Media  - The candidate is responsible or managing Shega's or clients social media presence. The tasks include developing, implementing and managing social media strategy, defining the most important social media KPIs, creating, managing and oversee visual and written social media content, collaborate with the team for monthly editorial calendar and measure performances.

Advertisement - Developing banners, animated ads, and commercials for display on third-party websites that can be put on other websites to push traffic to Shega or for clients who want to promote and put an advertisement on the Shega's platform.

SEO and SEM – The candidate is responsible for ensuring Shega's platform or client's website is easily found by the target audience. The responsibility includes optimizing website structure and content for search engines (SEO) and/or the use of paid online advertising (SEM)to drive relevant traffic to Shega. Specific tasks include :

  • Optimize every page/ post category of Shega
  • Find the best SEO services for Shega (plugins, external services etc for best optimization of Shega), integrate them with Shega’s site and manage their usage
  • Research both local and foreign competitors online performance and find out why (the keywords they use etc)
  • Research and provide keywords in Shega’s reporting Shega to use in their articles
  • Optimize every Shega article after they are posted.
  • Optimize old posts of Shega
  • Prepare an SEO guideline to be used by Shega reporters when writing articles and oversee their adaptation
  • Provide monthly/ weekly performance reports of posts for the editorial team

Community Management

As a Community Manager at Shega, you’ll support our organization’s online community by monitoring the engagement on various social media platforms. More specifically you’ll get to:

  • Manage Social Media campaigns for various social media platforms to align with marketing strategies
  • Host online and physical events that increase our engagement with our community
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry and digital trends
  • Build relationships with the online community
  • Monitor and provide feedback on engagement/conversation via social media channels to leadership
  • Create engaging content for all platforms, including blog pieces, articles, social media posts, newsletters, and videos.
  • Engage with the online community and respond to comments and requests.
  • Analyze web traffic and relevant community metrics.
  • Relay community feedback to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Devise and implement community communication initiatives.
  • Liaise with other departments to stay updated on new marketing initiatives, product and service developments, and to ensure brand consistency.
  • Attend networking events or relevant industry workshops.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, best practices, and website analytics.
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation
  • Outstanding copywriting skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Professional approach to time, costs and deadlines
  • You have an interest in the tech and startup scene within the region, Ethiopia especially.
  • You can work independently with minimal
  • You understand what readers want and what our customers want.
  • You can read, converse, and write in both English and Amharic. Other local languages is preferable.
  • Experience in a digital marketing, graphic design, or advertising position.
